1-in-5 people globally have difficulty accessing digital content the way it is traditionally designed and built. I’m on a mission to change that.
With over 10 years of experience in Diversity education and design, I’m the Creative Director of both Mod Wine Co. and my own award-winning design agency, McKnight Inclusive Design, where I develop digital materials and brand strategies that are compassionate, accessible and inclusive for organizations such as universities, government agencies, non-profits, and small businesses in Niagara and beyond.
Whether it’s through material graphic design, web accessibility, event direction, brand strategy, or policy development, it’s my goal to help businesses take meaningful steps towards becoming more inclusive – and to show them that you don’t have to sacrifice beautiful design to do it. My agency was one of the first in Ontario to focus on prioritizing accessible design, and the first agency to use inclusive design principles as a catalyst for social change, and I’m excited to now be bringing my expertise to the world of wine!
Some of my recent accolades include winning a Platinum Award for Best Graphic Design Studio as well as the Niagara “40 under 40” award for my work in digital accessibility and social change, as well as nominations for the RBC Canadian Women’s Entrepreneur Award (2021 & 2022), the Canadian Women of Influence Award (2021) and the Niagara Business Achievement Award, as well as being recognized as a WIBA Finalist in the Science & Technology category (2021).
I’m AODA certified, hold an Hon. BA as well as a Design Certificate from the University of Toronto, have completed post-graduate research at both San Francisco State University and UofT, and am currently working towards obtaining my International Association of Accessibility Professionals Certification (IAAP). I also teach my unique intersectional design method to students in the Graphic Design program at Niagara College to help inspire and shape the next generation of designers.
