Born and raised in Montreal, I spent over a decade learning the ins-and-outs of the service industry in one of the most culturally-diverse cities in the world. From bussing to mixology, production to management, my desire to learn all facets of how an establishment functions allowed me to accumulate a wealth of experience in the ever-changing landscape of beverage consumption.
The industry requires efficiency, personality, and passion. It’s more than a job for most of us; we live and breathe what we do. We become a family, inviting people into our home, and hoping they have an experience they’ll carry with them on the rest of their journey.
Mixing drinks or pairing wine is about bringing flavors together and seeing how they influence each other. There’s a lot of trial and error, risk and failure, but the rewards of success, that incredible first sip, make it all worthwhile. The industry as a whole is no different. With a local-focused vision, we can bring together talented producers and establishments to create something new, looking for that perfect combination of flavors.
Armed with a background in analytics, I felt it was time to expand my horizons and move to Ontario in October, 2022. Data-driven, creative, and motivated, I joined Mod to build a network of local producers and restaurants geared towards bridging the gap between them.
The industry has always been evolving, but the post-pandemic landscape is different. There is a need for what we’re doing here; a need for change.
